05 Nov Dreamforce 2019: 5 Things to Do at Salesforce’s Biggest Annual Event
Dreamforce 2019 is right around the corner. With all the sessions, keynotes, and more, it should come as no surprise that it’s going to be a busy four days and nights, filled to the brim with tons of exciting activities. We understand that with so much ground to cover, it’s only inevitable that some things will slip under your radar.
With that in mind, we’ll be discussing the top 5 things you should definitely check out at Dreamforce to make the most of your experience.
But first, here’s a brief primer on Dreamforce to bring you up to speed about what this whole event is actually all about.
What is Dreamforce?
Inaugurated in 2003, Dreamforce is not only Salesforce’s biggest annual conference, but an experience like no other that brings together the entire Salesforce community. It’s 4 action-packed days of learning, inspiration, and innovation, all topped off with a healthy dose of fun.
Featuring over 2700 sessions and 50+ inspirational keynotes, the Salesforce event brings together some of the brightest minds in the business. Moreover, Dreamforce provides an excellent opportunity for Trailblazers to connect, share stories, celebrate successes, and grow stronger together.
When is Dreamforce 2019?
Dreamforce usually takes place during the fall in September or October. However, this year’s Dreamforce will be held from November 19-22, 2019.
Where will Dreamforce 2019 be Held?
As per tradition, Dreamforce will take place in San Francisco, California, this year. Due to its scale, the event will be held at the Moscone Center but will also span surrounding areas, including Salesforce Tower, Marriott Marquis, InterContinental, Palace Hotel, Hilton Union Square, Park Central, Hotel Nikko, City View at Metreon, Westin St. Francis, and more.
Are Dreamforce 2019 Registrations Still Open?
While full conference passes have sold out, you can still join the event if you have a valid code. Even if you don’t have a valid code, you can still experience Dreamforce with a free Expo+ pass, or virtually from anywhere in the world through the Salesforce LIVE broadcast.
With a free Expo+ pass, you can meet Salesforce product experts, network with fellow Trailblazers, and see all the latest Salesforce solutions in action. However, you won’t have access to any Dreamforce events scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dreamforce vs. TrailheadX
Both Dreamforce and TrailheadX are two of the biggest annual Salesforce conferences. While TrailheaDX is geared exclusively towards Admins, Developers, and Architects, and Connections, Dreamforce has something for Trailblazers from all walks of life.
Now that you’re done with the basics, here are the five things that should definitely be on your Dreamforce agenda.
Dreamforce 2019: 5 Things You Can’t Afford to Miss
1. Get 50% Off on Salesforce Certifications + 3-Day Bootcamp
If you’re looking to bump up your Salesforce credentials, there’s really no better time or place to take a Salesforce certification exam than at Dreamforce this November. Not only can you get certified at Dreamforce at 50% of the normal price, but you’ll also have multiple options to take a certification exam at Dreamforce. Like previous years, attendees can choose to sit for a certification exam before Dreamforce begins or certify every day throughout Dreamforce.
To help attendees with their learning journey, Salesforce is also offering a pre-conference Bootcamp. The Bootcamp will feature eight learning tracks that you can sign up for now. This will be a three-day learning experience (November 16 through November 18), where you’ll be able to get hands-on with the platform and learn best practices from Trailhead’s master instructors.
You can easily add both Bootcamp and the certification to your Dreamforce registration online. Visit the Dreamforce 2019 Certifications page to learn more.
2. Learn to Build Your Own Salesforce Customer 360
Announced last year at Dreamforce, Customer 360 allows companies to unify data from all their Salesforce apps to put their customers at the center of everything they do and provide them the personalized experiences they expect and deserve. It serves as an integrated platform for all of your company’s different departments and brings them together like never before.
At Dreamforce 2019, Customer 360 will be taking center stage in the campground and the Customer Success Expo. You’ll be able to learn how to build your own Customer 360 by witnessing what your fellow Trailblazers have been able to accomplish leveraging the platform along with educational sessions explaining how they got there.
3. Opening Keynote with Marc Benioff + Special Guests
The opening keynote will officially kick off Day 1 of Dreamforce 2019. Co-CEOs Marc Benioff and Keith Block will take the keynote stage and will also be joined by some very exceptional guests sharing their digital transformation stories. The keynote will serve to highlight Salesforce’s strategic initiatives as well as motivate all those in attendance and set the tone for the rest of the event.
Keeping in mind Dreamforce 2018 had over 170,000 registered visitors and that this year’s event is already at capacity, queues for the main keynote room are going to be really long. So show up at least an hour in advance if you plan on being there in person. If long queues aren’t your thing, the keynote will be streamed live so you can watch from different, more convenient locations all across the Dreamforce campus.
4. Dreamfest 2019 Headlined By Fleetwood Mac
Dreamfest is the biggest party of the Dreamforce week. Every year a huge artist takes the stage and sets the crowd on fire. Past performers include the likes of the Foo Fighters, Green Day, and U2. Also, who can forget Metallica’s performance at last year’s Dreamfest.
It goes without saying; the bar has been set very high. Yet Salesforce manages to outdo themselves each year. It’s no different this time around as this year’s event will be headlined by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Fleetwood Mac!
Dreamfest 2019 will emanate from Oracle Park on November 20th. The best part is that entry to Dreamfest is part of your Dreamforce registration, and you only need to flash your badge to enter the event. However, tickets for the Dreamfest concert are available separately, with proceeds going to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
5. The Plum Village Monastics Return to Dreamforce
Plum Village is a mindfulness practice centre in Southern France founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. The Plum Village philosophy is influenced by Zen Buddhism as well as scientific and other philosophical approaches to mindfulness that can be applied in the work environment to combat stress and promote communication between coworkers.
Monastics from Plum Village have graced multiple Dreamforce events in the past, offering empowering meditations sessions for the attendees. This year along with small group meditation sessions, there will also be more extensive meditation sessions as well as personal one-on-one consultations throughout the week. Besides the daily meditations and teachings in the Mindfulness Lounge, you will also be able to experience mindfulness in Dreamforest and participate in daily walking meditations with the monastics.
Any interaction with the Plum Village monastics presents an excellent opportunity to step away from all the busyness of the event, take a breath, and really reflect on all the incredible things that you will be doing and learning at Dreamforce. Friday (the last day of Dreamforce) is specially reserved for spiritual events so you can be sent packing, feeling really positive about your whole Dreamforce experience.
The Bottom Line!
Mark your calendars and make sure to include all the activities and events we discussed in this article in your Dreamforce agenda. Also, visit the Dreamforce website to learn more about the event and stay up to date with all things Dreamforce. Here’s to an incredible four days of learning, innovation, and fun.
